PSP Brite boxart shows direct PSP Store

This is the boxart for the PSP Brite Limited Edition 4GB memory stick pack. Notice anything interesting? PS3 owners among you might recognise two things. Firstly, the PSN logo, which the PSP has previously not been associated with. Secondly, the screen shows the PSN Store. The actual PSN store, not the PC-based website. Interesting. That means we should be seeing the direct PSP store before this bundle releases on November 30th. Will we be hearing an announcement regarding the exact release date for the WI-FI based store directly on the PSP soon? With the Tokyo Game Show just around the corner, it's a strong possibility.

American PC Store update for October 2nd

A decent update! Who'd've thunk it? Today Sony has unveiled a full set of releases for your downloading pleasure. You'll find full games, trailers and themes/wallpapers. All in one update. That's something that hasn't happened for a while. If you enjoyed last week's release of Untold Legends for download, then you'll be happy to hear the sequel is now available too. Oh, and if you're wondering what happened to the European PC Store update post, there wasn't any new content. Sorry. Here's the full release list:
  • Untold Legends: The Warrior's Code full game ($14.99)
  • Work Time Fun full game ($9.99)
  • Bluetooth headset trailer
  • PipeMania trailer
  • NBA 09 PSP theme
  • 5x Midnight Club LA Remix wallpapers
  • PipeMania wallpaper

American PC Store releases for September 25th

Following in the European Store's footsteps, two full PSP games have been placed on the American PC Store today. Not only that, but there's also a demo and a theme to grab. We recommend getting your paws on Puzzle Quest, as it's a great game to have on your memory stick "just in case," without taking up your UMD drive. Here's the full release list:
  • Untold Legends full game ($14.99)
  • Puzzle Quest full game ($14.99)
  • Pipe Mania demo (free)
  • Buzz! Master Quiz theme (free)

Burnout Legends and Domination now available on the EU PSN Store

It's PSN update day, which (sometimes) means new downloadable content. Today Sony has plonked a couple of full PSP games onto the store for those of you who enjoy the Burnout series. If you're a PS3 owner you're probably already celebrating the Burnout Paradise trophy patch, or the opportunity to pick the game up off the PSN Store for the budget price of £25/€30. If not, then feel free to get your Burnout fix from one (of both) of these full PSP titles. Not a Burnout fan? Bad luck. Here's the full release list:
  • Burnout Legends (£14.99/€19.99)
  • Burnout Domination (£17.99/€24.99)

American PC Store releases for September 18th

Europe's PC Store update was sadly non-existant today, but America actually has the first decent update in a little while. Two full games are available from D3 Publisher, following their announcement of releasing a decent number of games onto the PSN Store over the next few months. Here's the full list:
  • Cube full game($9.99)
  • PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient full game ($9.99)
  • NBA 09 demo
  • NBA 09 trailer

Field Commander now available on the US PC Store

The American PC Store has been updated to include the full PSP title Field Commander. So if you're in the impulse buying mood, you can go ahead and pay the $14.99. It's online shopping and it arrives almost immediately. Depending on your internet connection, obviously. Only one other thing was added to the US PC Store today; a developer walkthrough for the upcoming Lucasarts title Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. That's free, in case you're wondering.

D3 Publisher reveals European PSP download lineup

D3 Publisher will be extending its range of newly announced PSP downloadable titles to Europe. While there is no pricing info nor release date, the company has listed which games it will be making available for download in Europe in Q4 2008. These are Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, Cube, Practical IQ, Dead Head Fred, Beta Bloc and Super Pocket Tennis.

So, for the most part these releases are the same as D3 Publisher's upcoming US downloadable releases, with the exception of Beta Bloc and Super Pocket Tennis. We'll update you with a release schedule and pricing as soon as we find out. If the price is right, a number of these games would make a perfect impulse buy.

American PC Store update for September 4th

Wallpapers! You like them? Good, because that's all your getting in your PC Store update today. Not just one, not just two, not just (ok, that's enough - Ed). Nine entire wallpapers are now available, for your downloading pleasure. That's nine whole images, that Sony has uploaded to the store. How's that for a quality update?
  • Valhalla Knights 2 wallpaper (x4)
  • Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 wallpaper (x2)
  • PSP Wallpapers Series #2 (x3)

European PC Store releases for September 4th

Don't get too excited. There's nothing of any real interest in today's PC Store update. That is, unless you're into managing your PSP's content via a handy PC application. The Media Manager (version 2.5, no less) is now available for free on the European PC Store and lets you drag and drop content from your PC to your PSP, previewing as you go. Oh, there's also the next episode of Movement. Here's the info in handy list form:

  • Media Manager 2.5 (free)
  • Movement episode 5, part 2 -- "London" (free, includes 8 videos)

American PC Store update for August 14th

Street Fighter Alpha is the gem at the top of today's rather pathetic pile of treasure. Unless you're a fan of themes and wallpapers, that's actually all that will interest you. It could definitely be worse though; of all the PS1 games that could've been chosen, Street Fighter Alpha's definitely not one to moan about. Here's the full release list:
  • Street Fighter Alpha PS1 game ($5.99)
  • Bionic Commando Rearmed theme (free)
  • 2x Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 wallpapers (free)
  • 2x Madden 09 wallpapers (free)

European PC Store update for August 14th

You like PS1 games, right? We hope so, because you've got two to choose between in today's PC Store update. Apart from that there's not a lot else, so if you're not a retro nut, be sure to look away now. Classic old school driving mayhem, or classic old school ... sheep mayhem? Take your pick. Here's the release list:
  • Sheep PS1 game (£3.49/€4.99)
  • Driver PS1 game (£3.49/€4.99)
  • Buzz! Master Quiz "Portable Party" TV advert (free)

American PC Store update for August 7th

Talkman! Three versions of this handy travel application are made available to download today, at a pretty decent price. For six dollars you can learn your way around a capital city, ask for directions and all sorts of other useful travel applications. If you're not traveling anywhere in the near future, you can still watch the videos that are available. There's one that shows off the latest build of PlayStation Home. You do have a PS3, don't you?

"Playable" Content
  • Talkman Travel Rome ($5.99)
  • Talkman Travel Paris ($5.99)
  • Talkman Travel Tokyo ($5.99)
Videos
  • Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 videos (2 videos)
  • PlayStation Home video

European PC Store update for August 7th

Have you heard about Secret Agent Clank? You probably have. The Ratchet & Clank spin off came out about a month ago in Europe, but if you haven't picked it up yet now's a perfect time to try it for free. A demo has been made available for you fence-sitters on the PC Store today, along with a trailer for the game and part 2 of episode 3 of Movement. That's all there is to today's update; short and sweet. Here's the info in a handy list form:

European PC Store update for July 31st

Short and sweet update today. Haven't taken the plunge and purchased Echochrome Micro yet? Give the newly released demo a go. You never know, you might love it. If you really, honestly, have no interest in the game, however, there's always the latest episode of Movement to keep you entertained. Episode 3 starts this week with the boys taking a trip to Milan. Here's the list:
  • Echochrome Micro demo (free)
  • Movement episode 3 part 1 (free - 5 videos)

American PC Store update for July 24th

Not a brilliant update today, but at least you get a better full game than those poor Europeans. Parappa The Rapper hits the US PC Store in game, trailer and wallpaper form today. What's that sneaking in with it? Two Killzone 2 wallpapers? That's not even a PSP game! We're not complaining though -- they look pretty. Here's the full release list:
  • Parappa The Rapper full game ($22.99)
  • Parappa The Rapper trailer
  • 2 Killzone 2 wallpapers
  • 4 Parappa The Rapper wallpapers
